So you can claim expenses of £4/week for a week or three on your 2019:20 return.

But you are a year ahead of time for 2020:21.

oh I see. I claim the rest next year. why just £4..i though 6 was the standard?

It is from this tax year. £4 was last tax year's rate.

Thanks. as I said I use this for child benefit reasons only so far from a dab hand at tax returns
