45% LTV Mortgage

My 2 year 1.55% fixed rate ends on the 30th April with the Bank Of Ireland, although it says I can switch from the 1st January.
I called Bank Of Ireland earlier and their best rate at the moment is 2.87% which is a big jump.
I'm now looking around for other deals and welcome any advice.
Ideally want a longer term fixed rate as I still have 15 years to pay off my mortgage with a 45% LTV.
Thank you

2.87% will just be a retention deal, enough to keep some people from going through the hassle of changing but not enough for others, it will never be market leading.

Most of the high street lenders will all be in and around the same sort of deals, some will be better than others when you take into account fees/cashback etc but you either need to check with the lenders what products they have (and whether you fit criteria) or get a broker to do the donkey work for you.

  • Thanks ACG. I searched a couple of the comparison websites and noticed Barclays do a 7 year fixed rate at 1.62% & £999 fee
    Seemed reasonable...
