I haven't been here for a while. I enjoyed regular prizes including a few big ones but when the wins dried up, around the time FB and other social media platforms became more popular for competitions, my interest waned. Coming back tonight there are big changes, I haven't yet worked out the easy way to search for competitions, to thank the competition posters etc but if I persevere I am sure I will get used to the new board.
Happy New Year to all and if the original posters of my time ( Kipper rings a bell ) are still around, good to 'see' you all again.

Gosh Kipper rings a bell here too, along with Al Mac, AmSquared, Martins Doll. Sadly Cistolic and Volkswagoncampervan are no longer with us and there was all that controversy over the demise of Ed Keep...
Many other names I see on Facebook, but they don't often come here. If they do, it's to comp quietly without making their presence known, so I shan't name them here.
Sadly, WeeOwens, Laks and more have left since the changes. There are several competitions that were always posted now missing, but they can still be found if you go feeding the ducks etcWorse things will have happened in the world today..."The only thing that really matters, it to love and to be loved."1 -
Al_Mac and Cheeky_Chicken got married back in 2015. https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2018/04/ive-won-10-years-of-prizes-a-3000-cruise-and-a-husband/?_ga=2.135544627.341746715.1606296839-903061803.1601428917.
They both logged in early last year but not recently.
Laks posted a comp recently (31/12), probably just to see if it's got better yet.
amsquared is still around and posts occasionally.2 -
Yes, I remember that marriage, and I have spotted Amsquared a few times lately, but there's been a big gap before then, I think?Worse things will have happened in the world today..."The only thing that really matters, it to love and to be loved."0

Oh wow some old users there that I remember
I find myself using 3-4 different sites now, shame the forum is so quiet compared to what it was. Times certainly have changed, is Toniq still about? go back 13/14/15 years ago that was my best days before social media properly kicked off and there were around 300 pages to get through on the competitions forum.

I'm a returner to comping too, having been away for years. It's definitely much quieter on the board than it used to be, I used to spend 16hrs+ at the end of the month trying to plough through all the competitions that were finishing - there were always so many on the last day of the month.
Now so many competitions are on social media which I'm not keen on as so many people enter and the odds seem so slim of winning anything - having said that I have won a couple of Twitter comps recently.
The other new thing I'm not enjoying are the needy Gleam competitions posted by mostly mummy bloggers - 64million ways to enter, must comment, must like mine and all my friends social media pages, must like all my recent posts, must like and share everything I've ever posted, look at this page, look at that page - Jeez, calm down! Now if it has more than four ways to enter I'm just not bothering.
I still like the buzz though and there still seems to be a good community feel to these pages. Keep winning everyone.6 -

I used to comp on here quite a bit, but find the new boards horrible to navigate. I notice there seems to be a lot less posted than there used to be.
This was always my go to, but I need to sadly find an alternative now.0 -

If you use 3 or 4 sites do you have a way to keep track so you're not doubling up?I'm the same as you guys, just trying ot get back into it after a few years and surprise how much quieter it's become on here! I'd assumed it was just that there were less comps out there, but it's interesting to see they're still there just not getting posted on here any more.
