Hi
We have two houses next door to each other one paid for worth 195k one worth about the same with 70k outstanding on mortgage we want to knock through mortgage company,halifax ,say we cannot any ideas on how to approach this quandary appreciated

If the mortgage lender said no then you have no option until the mortgage is fully paid up & both houses are full owned by you. All mortgage lenders will refuse a request such as this.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Wait until remortgage time is up and go to a lender who allows titles to be joined (or lends over more than 1 title but the 1st option is more common)
Plenty of them about and high street rates available. Just not Halifax so either pay your erc and move now, or wait until any deal you are on finishes0 -
You may need some form of more specialist development finance while the work is actually being done.0
