Hello Honey_Bear congratulations on your 8th sober anniversary. That's very interesting about the dreams. I haven't given up completely but I drink very rarely these days. I sometimes have dreams where I get absolutely hammered and then feel guilty the next morning at the thought of confessing on here😂.

This is my first year on this thread and looking at my data from April and now July, it appears that holiday months are where I fall down in terms of targets for the month. I will plan accordingly in 2023. It is so disappointing when you don’t get your badges!!

Aaaahhhh, All Night Diner, I remember the disappointment the morning after so well on the days when I realised I'd slipped up again.  So easy to do.  Recognising the patterns and triggers that result in those indulgences really helps.  You'll get there.

Thank you Yellow Monkey.  I love how this thread keeps going, new people joining in, CathyBird totalling up the scores (I hope ShaggyDo is still going strong wherever she is and whatever she's doing now) and motivating everyone.  Such a simple idea, so successful for so many of us. 

Marahouti, I first had one of those dreams when I was still posting on this thread and I felt exactly the same - my reaction was not, 'Oh no, I drank' it was, 'Oh no, I'm going to have to confess to everyone on the thread I drank' while I was still dreaming!  I felt a real sense of embarrassment about having to do so too.  I love how our subconscious works although it's a real mystery to me.  I'm sure if we can get the message lodged deep down in the subconsious that this is what we really want for ourselves, in this case knocking the drinking on the head a bit or at least the over-indulgence bit of it, that is what makes it work.  I certainly didn't have dreams where I drank and it was a cause of regret in my drinking days, only after I stopped.  I'm more than a bit surprised that I'm still having them eight years on though, when the option to drink doesn't even occur to me any more.  I genuinely never think about it which is obviously helpful.  I don't know how I'd cope if I wanted a drink sometimes because I'm really not good with temptation.
