All this talk of Christmas I’m struggling with. Christmas used to be a big excuse for me. My wife has organised an AF lunch for my company but I know for some of my staff they will want a drink. We are also paying for a night out for my staff that I won’t be attending for obvious reasons. 

My boy is excited for Christmas. He is 8 and I feel like I need to make an effort for him at least. I am going to watch him sing  as he is in the school choir, first time I will have been to anything like this and I’m dreading sitting there and doing something like !!!!!! crying in front of other parents know this sounds really !!!!!! weird but when he saw my parents in Greece for the first time since he was very young I just broke down which was fine because they are family but I !!!!!! did it when I picked him up from school after spending time in rehab for my addiction. Something wrong with me know that much but the anxiety is making me want to take the edge off and I know I’ll be around alcohol and it’ll 100% threaten my plan for an AF Christmas/ December

@Coveredinbees!!!! it is never too early for christmas lights.   @alt80 tough to have a AF Christmas.   I 'm not even thinking about that far ahead.
Sticking on 18 although very pleased with yesterdays efforts.  A friend turned up with a bottle of wine and some nuts so obviously i opened the bottle and poured her a glass.  But I poured myself a small amount, say about 2 cm in bottom of wine glass and topped up with water and drank that.   I did the same with the second glass.   She and I normally drink  A LOT together.   I have worried about our social get togethers. Luckily the wine was pink and the house was dimly lit so I didn't have to explain, it just was not obvious i had cut down.    I did the same for the second glass.   By the end of our chatting i had probably drunk no more than quarter to half a small glass.
Usually  would have drank half the bottle then opened another with this friend and then tottered off to bed having let a bottle of wine or more go to my head.
Very proud of self.   I do know i will drink the remainder of the bottle at some time but that is for thinking about another day.

23/25 for me today please - I might even exceed my target this month! I love the skating emoji. My best friend and I used to go skating when we were teenagers (we're now unremunerated pensioners). We'd mostly skate round the rink talking :-)

alt80 - feel free to vent on here if it helps - you have come so far in the last few months and should be proud of yourself.

alt80 I remember a lot of discussion on here in the first few threads about alcohol masking/numbing people to emotions especially negative ones. People found being AF meant everything came out more. I understand it doesn't last for most people so it's not just you. I don't know about the other stuff but make sure you carry tissues!
