Cathybird, sending you positive vibes through the interwebs - sorry to hear you are having a tough time. 8/15 for me for this evening.
A tough day at work yesterday combined with returning to commuting left me wrung out and very low last night. I had back pain and had ended up taking painkillers in the afternoon. I would have caved in last night if it hadn't been for you lovely people on here. I think alcohol would have been a numbing agent and a painkiller last night. Plus soothing that gruntled don't know what to do with myself unsettled feeling. I watched Strictly and did a bit of a jigsaw which helped. OH cooked dinner and pushed me in the right direction rather than leading me astray.
Have a good Wednesday everyone.

Can I join please? Just trying to work out how it works. Do I state how many AF days I want at the beginning of each month here and report how its going?
I've very much trying to cut down on the booze, for quite a few reasons. Its always linked to smoking for me, which is so expensive and bad for me. I seem to spend half my life in nicotine withdrawal. Its also a case of often not drinking in moderation and getting stinking hangovers, and this also leading to poor mental health. And the alcohol and cigarettes together are a nightmare financially. So ideally I want to stick to high days and holidays only, and never on my own (which limits it a lot as I live alone).
So no high days and holidays planned for the rest of the month, so 19 AFD for me until the end of October, please? (if that's the right thing to say/do?)Live the good life where you have been planted.

Welcome @Elisheba.😊 Yes, you've done the right thing in posting a target for the rest of the month. It's ambitious but why not?? Just update your score as often as you can, ideally in bold as it helps to make it noticeable. @cathybird will add your name to the list later I'm sure. The thread is very supportive and gives a layer of accountability. I always think of it as a star chart for grown ups! 😁
Well done @WannabeFree. I'm sure you felt good for resisting and great that your OH was supportive too.
7/10 AFDs please @cathybird4 -
Eli - Alcohol is Satan's bile (That should put you off!). I used to drink a lot but April 5th I gave up - cold turkey. If I can do it...
#Anyways , Hi all! 19/29 (I ewant all the emojis, that's why I don't go for /31!) and 192 AFDs in a row. That's a lot of ducks! :duckNow a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!4 -

Thanks maman and WBFI finish work in early December. I have had some niggling health issues this year eg I hurt my back recently, not even sure how, but it has taken a while to get better. Also family issues, my elderly dad is in hospital but there are a lot of complications around that, about whether he should go into care now etc, and I don't know how it's all going to get resolved. Added to that is difficult people at work that I have to deal with, though I know at least that will all be done with by the end of this year. I normally check after I've posted the list to make sure everyone has the right emojis but my brain just hasn't been in gear the past few days. Thanks for your kind words xx
