Giving Up/Cutting Down Alcohol Thread Part 17

I think we all have to decide for ourselves what we can manage in terms of socialising alt. It's not unusual to avoid socialising until we are sure we can trust ourselves and then gradually ease off if that's what feels right. 😊
It does get easier with time though LL. Personally, I know I'd drink far too much if I started at 4 p.m. so I have a strict 6 o'clock rule which I rarely deviate from unless out to lunch or on holiday. Some people buy special soft drinks or AF beers but I find soft drinks far too sweet so stick to a good, old fashioned cup of tea on AF days.6 -

@maman thanks. I have a restaurant booked 8th May, civilised place for lunch with my wife. Planning that to be my first drinking day tbh.
I need to avoid the other stuff like the plague currently one under residential rehab only didn’t sign up to that because I don’t want to leave home tbh very lucky I have private health cover, know others with lesser means wouldn’t have the options I have. That’s the main reason for deciding I’ve had my last big ones but also need to stay away from drinking heavily - moves onto other things and also I can get into a bit of a vicious cycle with booze. Lesser extent tbf but still not great.5 -
Hi all, 10/28 today
I got the news from work yesterday, all charges dropped as there was no evidence! Yeooo
Amazingly yesterday remained AF but I did buy a truck with the money I'd been saving all year in case I lost my job!BF is giving me half of the dosh back when he sells his van but it felt good, sooo good 👍

9/23 AFDs today
I’m in no rush to go into pubs, I may have some friends round in the summer in my garden but I was categorised as CEV so not rushing back to “normality” and especially to your large scale pubs who won’t care about customers just sales and profits.5 -
I just checked my try dry app, I'm on 5/20, drank last night and regretting it this morning. I wasn't going to buy anymore whiskey but got some on the way home from work last night and drank some of that.
Nothing to see here, move along.5 -
