Do you have a Home Bargains near you? They have a large Easter section, including themed kids’ clothing and pyjamas.

My sister ordered 2 chocolate bouquets for the kids 21st and 18th birthdays. DD was still asleep when they turned up so I hid hers. When she saw her brothers she remarked about the calories and the temptation to eat it at once. I'm at 10 presents that begin with M. but think I'm now going to have to hold off any more confectionery. I've sent what I do have round to my parents, I am currently able to still see them as they are still both ill, so vulnerable. The Dr wishes to see Mum in 2 weeks time re her having the mole removed from her leg which has worried her.

haven't been to home bargains for a while as further out so hard to say its an essential/local journey but there is a tesco next door so I could do my weekly shop there.

Redrobin hope your feeling better now -  those glasses are so pretty

Spendless My dd is similar with regard to chocolate/sweets she likes them but worries about the calories and putting on weight  especially as she been a lot less active due to lockdown.   I hope things go ok with your mum

Ordered disney 2021 easter plushies for the girls easter box as they are on offer also ordered a The child shoulder toy for Taz as he loves "baby yoda". They have a baby mickey in a pouch toy reduced to £6 which is a bargain so ordered a couple to hit the free delivery threshold and they can go in the xmas donations box.

this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk

It's DS 21st birthday today. DH managed to tie in travelling to the area with  doing some work nearby a few days ago and dropped in his cards & presents - all of which he opened in advance! He still has his favourite childhood caterpillar birthday cake we sent though as his girlfriend took it from him and hid it till today hahaha.

We gave him money to buy a take away for the 3 of them. He said he was getting a Chinese because they are 'really expensive' which made me realise how much he saw costs through student eyes as I'd not consider it in the same way. As I haven't seen him I rang him to wish him Happy Birthday and said since his sister was born I'd always known they'd be 21 & 18 in the same month but never anticipated there'd be nothing we could do to celebrate it!

I am hoping that there will be some announcement soon re Uni students and Easter hols and all 3 can come again to me like they did at Christmas. Neither housemate will be returning to their respective parental homes due to the same reasons as before.

mandco - I'm glad mine is going back too. I've had huge concerns over her mental health for around a month and even she has said she's fed up of living an 'online life'

Do all the colleges have that deadline date? It seems early. When DD applied to colleges not school sixth forms, she'd had enough of school, she wasn't accepted onto her course until Mid May and we looked round 2 further colleges after that, one in June and I think the other was early July. She ended up with an offer at each but took the 1st one.

Oh wow Redrobin poor DD, and you seeing it. Is she ok? I take it she hit her head on something. Was it a hospital trip? Sending healing hugs.
No kids here to return to school but friends and family who have kids are ready with the celebratory fizz getting the kids back to school - or at least a cup of tea in peace. I certainly don't think any are considering a career in teaching  :D

She fell backwards and hit the corner of wood boxed around pipes . I called the paramedics who saw to her but couldn’t glue it , they helped her as much as they could then arranged for on call district nurses to come out a little while later and glue/ dress it . District nurse is coming out Monday to check on her .

Ow, poor her. Surprised that the paramedics couldn't glue it but at least there was a district nurse who could come out and you avoided any visits to casualty. Thankful as awful as it is, it wasn't a worse injury. Wishing her a speedy recovery. Xx
