Can I delay repayment of overpaid tax?

As you have registered as self employed HMRC will no doubt issue you with a return in April 2021 for completion.
If you remain on a non cumulative tax code for the rest of this tax year then the timing of any refund will be entirely down to you. As it is upto you when you complete the return and also whether you ask for any tax overpaid to be refunded or not.1 -
Ah, so even though my profits will almost certainly be below the threshold, the act of me registering will have triggered a requirement for SA then, hope I've undersood that correctly. Seems it's now down to whether my employer update my tax code or not then. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, I appreciate it
