According to this http://www.reducereuserecycle.co.uk/where_can_I_recycle/glasses the scheme is still open - have you tried any other opticians ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

I have tried the main ones. On vision aids website they say they’re no longer participating so was wondering if any other opticians do anything? Or any other schemes or charity shops accept them? If not I can recycle but just wondered before I did!0

My local library has a collection bin, but they have been closed more often than not this year, even when they are allowed to open.1

Vision Aid have stopped recycling spectacles as it was no longer cost effective.
You could try the Lions CLUB

There's a company in the UK that recycles and recovers the materials from end of life spectacle frames called Recyc-line, there's lots of info on their website for the public and opticians on how to recycle with them, the company name is recycline0
