Can I pay into my SIPP an amount equivalent to my annual earnings (upto £40K), even if my employer has also made contributions to my SIPP this year?

The £40K annual allowance limit includes your contributions , any tax relief paid into the pensions and any employer contributions .
If less than £40K was added to your pension in the previous three years , you can carry this unused allowance forward.0 -
Yes I know that. My question was, and I'll use an example to illustrate, say I earn £20K, and my employer has contributed £5K into my SIPP. Can I make a personal contribution of £20K or £15K?0
