NHS Pension Advice

I’m considering taking early retirement from the NHS. Are there any specialist financial advisers who deal specifically with the NHS Pension that I can seek advice from. I spoke to a financial adviser recently who didn’t seem to know much about the NHS Pension Scheme.

If you are a member of any medical organisation, e.g. BMA, RCN, etc. check with them first to see if they can give you the advice you need, or have a relationship with any financial advisers.
Make sure you have searched for the information you need using Google - the NHS is such a big employer that most questions have been asked and answered before, so Google your question and then ask here if you can't find the answers. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.2 -
Might depend on the specific line of work you are in but I use the company LLoyd and Whyte who do retirement planning and investment advice for healthcare professionals.

If you are a member of the RCN you are entitled to a complimentary, no obligation financial review from Lighthouse Financial Advice. https://www.lighthousefinancialsolutions.co.uk/affinity/royal-college-of-nursing/

it does tend to be specialist advisors often via the unions - I used the BMA but they were a bit snowed under as so many queries.
There is a fair bit about early retirement and actuarial reduction on the NHSBSA site and you should be able to get an estimate from them for a specific age / date of leaving
I left the scheme and continued working and then took the pension but that was normal age0
