Low sugar and low carb would have to be protein based / full of fibre? Am interested in the recipe that cracks this, keeps for a week and still tastes nice?

Low sugar, low carb and filling - sliced carrots and celery. This is my choice of filling snack but not to everyone's taste.

So much to read, so little time.

I don't expect it to be zero carb and zero sugar by any means, I was thinking honey/fruit for the sugar elements and potential "binder" with oats I guess.

Whilst I love carrots and celery, I don't really want them raw for breakfast!

No one bakes this kind of thing for breakfast then?  Flapjack style bars at all?

There are a lot of variations and hints about storing and reducing the calories in the comments too but I'm not sure they will hit the mark for low carb and low sugar.
Although having looked at the bbc good food recipes for breakfast bars which all use golden syrup, sugar and butter/oil I'm wondering if I might be wrong there.

I think the difficulty is the low carb and low sugar bit, I would suggest oatcakes for the low sugar but that won't be low carb.
I often see egg muffins suggested for people who want a low carb option. There are loads of recipes online, but your basically mixing up eggs and cooking them in a muffin tin along with a bit of veg/ sausage or whatever. Not a bar, but just as portable and they would last a few days in the fridge.

I have made the nigella bars, my son has also made them and added in powdered protein.

I used to make these most weekends for my husband, I used all sorts of combinations of seeds. They were perhaps the best I have made.  However not sure they are low carb or low fat but they are very filling.

I'm currently eating pumpkin seed ryvita and cheese slices for my breakfast.

Wondering if I can up the nuts and seeds and replace the oats.....should still stick together.   I can't eat oats in any quantity.

I don't see why not.  I've just made it, the dates make it very sticky.
