Oh, yes, of course - there is nothing in autism that isn't found in non-autistic people! It's just that it can be such a problem in autistic folk that the official advice I've read has literally been to get yourself a secretary, or to live with a partner, parent or flatmate who is willing to take on a lot of the administrative work, because with "executive dysfunction" the problems can be so severe that people become dangerously ill because they can't decide which cereal to have for breakfast so can't eat anything for days on end...!
At a rough guess, having lived here for 6.5 years, I reckon I have around 40 knitting WIPS, 20 crochet WIPS and perhaps 20 or 30 sewing WIPs....2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

Excluding my two "current" projects (a jumper and a pair of socks), I have 6 knitting WIPs (all waiting to be sewn up), and one crochet WIP. There's probably a couple of sewing projects that have been hanging around for decades, too. I should write those off, since I'll never be thin enough to fit into them. (I cut them out but was too scared - or too scarred by sizing issues - to sew them up.)

*** Slinks around the "sewing room" refusing to look at the cut-down-but-not-finished extremely-posh-fabric curtains intended for the landing, over a year ago *** Never mind the rest of it!
You are not alone! These curtains were rescued from a Country House being redecorated by a friend - the previous owners were just going to bin them. I've sold most of the rest on, but thought these would be good to tart up our landing; heavy woven slubby-linen-type fabric, in a neutral beige, with a print of occasional dark red flowers. Totally acceptable, the rest of the family agree. The trouble is, I just don't find them inspiring! They do not spark joy! They're taking up an enormous amount of space, it'll take about half an hour to finish them, and I just can't bring myself to knuckle down & do it! They're kind of causing a blockage, both in my mind and in the available space. I think I might abandon the project & give the fabric away, and just find something secondhand that I like better.
In other news, I have spent some coupons on some yarn to weave with; DD2 needed some more for blanket so we popped into a yarn shop in a nearby suburb whilst dropping some of her excess clothes off to a charity shop, and I couldn't resist a couple of (very large) balls of JCB's Rustic Aran Tweed in contrasting colours to weave with. I should be able to get 3 7' tri-shawls out of that, and will mix in some other yarns that I have hanging around. So - 800g of 20% wool, 80% man-made - have I just "blown" 16 coupons, as it contains natural fibres? Must watch out, I actually do need some clothes too, mostly underwear, and new walking boots...

ooh thanks @PipneyJane I'd been searching for a yarn shop but Google had provided me with nothing!
I figured this MUST be the type of area for a yarn store.

Quick update, I have now moved to the North of the village, chillier on this side of the river for sure
Took a meander this morning past a charity shop set off from the main street. Already spotted two things through the window I may go back for, coupon free will make me very happy indeed.
Did you notice there was still a vestige of daylight at 10pm tonight? That's the plus side of the north of the village.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Laura I am definitely going to try writting things down, my whole house is still a building site because I have dithered over decisions about what I want on the floors. Covid didn't help but that was because I went round in circles for so long I got to the point where I couldn't go and see anything to confirm my choices and now there is a long wait to get someone out to sort it. Honestly I could kick myself, especially as I do usually make all the decisions and it is exhausting so I really feel for you if this is how you feel all the time.
I agree on the pocket but I do actually like that print and I think it would be quite nice as an accent on a plain coordinating garment, cuffs of sleeves etc but as you don't like it you can congratulate yourself on fnding a way to use it where you don't have to see it. Very make do, I'm very impressed, I would probably just have hidden it at the bottom of the wardrobe for years11 -
All this talk of WIPs and minor repairs has made me get on and sort out one of DHs jumpers. It has a mock T-shirt in the V neck which always looks grubby, even when just washed so I've tackled that this morning. Just cut it out and then turned the raw edges over and hand stitched in place. This at least will give the jumper a new lease of life for a while yet. Glad it's done as I absolutely loathe hand sewing! Even sewing a button on annoys me and just lately I've got the sewing machine out to do just that. Definitely makes the button stay on longer than when I do it by hand so that's good in my book too!

@Liverpool_Anne, I ended up with half a dozen packs of 'fat quarter' squares of cotton-prints a few years ago - they did them in Lidl, I think - people kept kindly popping them in the post to me! Lovely, but I never had a use for most of them til I realised they are useful for these kind of unseen linings - our oven-gloves needed re-lining and now have navy cotton with rows of white Scottie-dogs with red collars (?!?!)...2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

Morning all. I'm making a dress from stash fabric but I need to buy lining. Does that count as fabric which needs coupons or is it haberdashery which doesn't? I could count it as a slip - most dresses in the 1940s weren't lined, women wore slips instead which could be laundered together with dress shields so that the outer dress didn't have to be washed as often.
But I'm right in thinking the zip and thread don't need coupons aren't I?It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!5 -

A very good point about dresses not being lined - I really do need to get on and make camisoles. I tend to wear skirts and blouses, rather than dresses, but I have been intending to make camisoles so that a blouse can be worn more times, and keep on not getting round to it!
