Cross reference in ET1 form

Hope you all have a wonderful boxing day. I have a question of setting out the background and details of my claim in Section 8.2 of the ET1 form.
When I put down a list of chronological narrative events in this section, do I have to cross-reference them with relevant documents. In other words, if I put down the following:
XX/XX/2020---Blah, Blah,....[doc1.pdf].
Doc1 is an actual email sent by the respondent and an actual workload policy. When I fill the online ET1 form in the first place, do I have to provide a set of documents of evidence, like Doc1? If so, how should I do it? if not, it is good enough, I place the event with a clear date provided. Is it true that I don't have to provide a set of documents of evidence until I write my witness statement?
How does the judge know what I provided is correct?
