Chronology and factual corrections in the ET claim form

Of course, a solicitor could write everything for me in the ET claim form. However, they are absolutely expensive. I am preparing the worst-case situation for myself: representing myself in the ET claim form.
It would be great if you could give me some ideas on how to write Chronology. For example,
1.) 20/XX/20XX-- Blah Blah........ From this incident, it is a sign of radical discrimination
2.)
20/XX/20XX-- Blah Blah........ It is a sign of radical discrimination because A said I was not good enough..... Blah, Blah,.....
I surfed on the internet and got some suggestions for wringing Chronology to be factually correct. If I put these two bold sentences at the end of each event described, would it be not appropriate? and the judge would not accept it as I put down my intents and purpose.
If I want to show the events I mentioned in the examples related to radical discrimination, how could I show them in my ET claim form properly?
It would be great if you could give me more ideas...... Merry Christmas everyone

    Do you mean "racial" discrimination?

Does the incident you describe definitely demonstrate racial discrimination, or could there be a non-racial explanation?.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

yeah, I mean racial discrimination. I don't know why I put down radical instead....
It does but I am worried the judge won't understand me without a bit of guideline.
Any suggestions would help definitely help me out.

A person in charge of an ET hearing should know what constitutes racial discrimination and might not be amused if you started pointing out "the blxxding obvious". If you use a word such as "sign" this actually compounds the error. For example, chest pain is a sign of a heart attack, but it does not automatically mean one has had a heart attack.

Unless you have really good evidence of racial discrimination, rather than something that hints at possible RD, I would think very hard before continuing your claim.

  • Being slow, does it mean the sentences of " From this incident, it is a sign of radical discrimination and It is a sign of radical discrimination because A said I was not good enough" should not be put on chronology then?

I'm sorry but what you're asking makes no sense to me.

Unless someone said something like "You're too slow at this, you [insert ethnic group of your choice here] always are" then there is no evidence of racial discrimination. And if someone said something explicit like that, then there is no need to point out that this is racial discrimination.

Just telling you that you are not good enough at the job, or that you are too slow, demonstrates nothing related to discrimination at all.

Edited to add: even if someone made a comment along the lines I have indicated, do you have independent evidence of this? If you were the only person who heard what was said, OR you are the only person prepared to stand up in an Employment Tribunal and say what you heard, then the employer will deny it. Your (former?) colleagues are unlikely to be much help in this area.

  • Sorry -  but I agree with lincroft1710 that on the basis of what you've put here, you need to decide if this is really worth pursuing.

For instance, you have twice written "... It is a sign of racial discrimination because A said I was not good enough".  I'm sorry, but that simply doesn't make sense - it does not follow that you are being racially discriminated against because somebody said you weren't good enough - maybe you simply aren't good enough.

If you want to prove discrimination, you need to ask yourself how you can show it.  If english is not your first language (apologies if it is) you may need somebody to help you draft what you want to say.

  • There is a very good example of how to set out an Employment Tribunal claim form (ET1) for discrimination here: https://lionsheadlaw.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/ET1-race-discrimination-and-unfair-dismissal.pdf

It is important to keep your ET1 clear and concise. Don't go into lots of detail about "he said, she said" type stuff.

Remember that you will have an opportunity to go into more detail in your witness statement. The witness statement comes at a later stage in the process.

  • Hey Sue and Manxman, you completely got it wrong from me. First of all, I just want to know the format to write chronology and steampowered answered my question. My examples put up in my messages did not make sense at all as my intent served for looking the right format to write chronology at all.
    Thank you for your answers

    In who's opinion?
Yours obviously but have you had any professional advice that the alleged incident is likely to meet the legal test?

Also, I would echo Manxman's comment from yesterday evening.....

Your points will need to come over more clearly than they do here.
