My Personal Tax Allowance has been miscalculated for up to 30 years due to Inland Revenue error.They say they can only refund up to 5years and have sent a cheque today.It was for Medical Insurance @approx £600pa which I did not have.Can I claim more please.

    The thing about self-assessment is that you are required to ensure the information is correct.

    Did this medical insurance show on your P11D issued by your employer each year?
  • Yes,unfortunately I did not relate the amount until it was itemised last year showing BT,my previous employer and my current employer.I have received today from Inland Revenue 4 correct Tax P 800 covering their incorrect calculations from 2016
