Sainsbury's was offering 25% off 6 bottles of wine ( or more) when we placed our order on the 13 Dec, but delivery was on the 17th and we didn't get the discount. Contacted customer support to be told read the small print or hyperlink ! The offer has to be on when delivered not when purchased. I thought if it was priced as X you paid X.
A very bad practice from a major retailer

Its not bad practice at all, its always been like that for online supermarkets. You pay the price on the day of delivery not the price when you ordered it. Your shopping is scanned on the day and then you are charged.
Perfectly normal and perfectly understandable. Would you of complained if something had gone down in price? or if the 25% started on your delivery day and you were charged a lot less than you thought you would?

Absolutely, the price tag on it is what you pay ? How can they put anything through the till days before delivery? Your food is picked on the day of delivery, scanned , packed and put on a van for delivery. .
