Payslip & Pay Date

Hello!
Query relating to Pay Date on payslips - I work via an agency through an umbrella group, all PAYE. Each week I receive a payslip from the umbrella group, which is dated in the past. For example, today (17/12/2020) I received a payslip for money I will get tomorrow, with Tax week 34, Pay Date 27/11/2020.
My query is: can employers issue payslips with a Pay Date 3 weeks in the past (weekly paid) when paying you?
Thanks!

Is that the week they are paying you for? That's the question that matters. If it isn't then it needs to be corrected. When the tax year changes you could get an overlap if you've had multiple jobs and end up with 53 weeks pay.

I don't know if this is completely straightforward, but ...
The money you will get tomorrow, is it for the period which ended on 27/11? That is week 34, so I would guess it is, and at some point you have been given an indication of when payments are made in relation to when hours are worked.
If that's the case, then I think this is relevant:I know that the employer has to notify HMRC when a payment is actually made - RTI, Real Time Information - but I don't think HMRC cares what date is on the payslip. For example, we pay on or before 25th of each month, but the payment covers the whole month, so the payslips are dated for the last day of the month. I know it's the reverse of your situation, but that's what HMRC cares about. What is the process date on a payslip?
This is normally the date from and to for which your pay is covering. It might also show your pay day, or only the day to which your pay is being calculated e.g. pay 25th of the month it might show 25 June 2019. In some situations the date will refer to a period behind the payment date, known as working in arrears
