coyrls said:On my LTA form from my pension provider, it asks for details of pension benefits that started payment before 6 April 2006 but not for details of any benefits that started payment after then. Perhaps LTA information has been given to HMRC by pension providers since 6 April 2006?Hmmm my LTA form asked for details of any BCEs new and old, so I'm not sure whether it is being sent.Though there was definitely something in it that made me think that there was a whole avenue of pension income that they hadn't accounted for, but unfortunately I can't remember what it was.0

I really wonder if pension providers send any info about LTA to the revenue?? The reason for this is that I recently crystallized a sipp with HL - I have IP 2016 protection giving me an LTA of £1.25m which I sent them a copy of - after crystallising my sipp they sent me an email stating percentages of LTA used but forgot I had protection and based it on standard 20/21 LTA - when I pointed out their mistake they just sent me another email by return with recalculated figures - no mention of anything being sent to revenue either original figures or correction -and, when I then asked for a hard copy of figures the letter I received had figures based on original mistake!! Certainly seems to me that it's all based on individuals keeping track and telling pension providers what figures they should use and revenue are told little or nothing LTA usage??0

Maybe worthy of a little “Freedom of Information” request to HMRC to get all they have on me....
Mind you, that might alert them to my decades of embezzling stationery from all my employers

You want to do a Subject Access Request under the Data Protection Act.1
