  • As you appear to have been selling the consoles in a business capacity, Paypay may want more details than you have already supplied.
    Are you registered as a business seller on ebay?
  • As you bought the consoles with the intention of reselling them, then irrespective of it being a one off situation, that makes you a business seller and there are obligations that go along with that.
    All you can do at the moment is to keep communicating with PayPal and give them whatever information they need to lift the restriction on your account.

    Should I ring them also will it speed up the process if you have any idea dealing with them? I don't want to wait and them not respond in weeks etc
    You can try but it's unlikely to get you anywhere. You've played the game and you've lost - the only question now is how quickly they confirm to you the size of your loss.

    Out of interest how many is a 'high volume' ?

    Sorry what do you mean loss? about 5 items sold
    5 of the same item just after release is going to flag up as a business.

    They are starting to not like people profiting in such a way now.

    "resolved"   :D

    What you really mean is that you regret advertising your scalping on the web because people saw through it.

    Recently on ebay I have made a high volume of sales for gaming consoles therefore the funds going into paypal have been much higher than issue. I logged in the other day to find the message "you have an account alert - to help protect your account we're reviewing recent activity....'.it wanted me to upload business information, bank statement, proof of fulfilment, receipt from purchases or name of supplier.
    - I just put in my ebay details and in notes mentioned why the sales were higher
    - I uploaded bank statement
    - I put in name of business where I bought the goods from, GAME, Very etc
    - I put the full shipment tracking info from all the products I sent to the customers for the transactions it was querying.

    How long should it take to resolve as I cannot even withdraw my funds, can paypal keep these funds from me forever? More funds are due in this week so I am worried I will be stuck without this money.
  • Good on PayPal, people like you basically forced parents to spend hundreds more than they would have done.
    I hope PayPal give you the usual '180 days in holding' treatment, might make you think a little about the ethics of you future actions :)
