National savings index linked certs

Does anyone know of a sipp/ppp that can allow for an investment into the above. Indeed anything that qualifies as a pension contribution for tax relief that allows those certs as an investment. Actually NSI income bonds might also be ok.
I don't mind guaranteed low returns albeit linked (tenuously) to cost of living ,but if I am going to get low returns then I also want to guarantee low risk and given these are backed by the treasury that seems to meet that criteria better than others. However ,is it possible ?

Kitchen1, inside a pension you'd use index linked gilts (government bonds), not the NS&I standalone products. There are also funds that invest in UK index-linked gilts.

Why are you interested in this product type, what risks concern you? Are you including them as part of a mixture of investments that reduces risk? Unless you're already retired or retiring within five years this isn't really something that you should be putting a lot of money into for long term retirement planning - the growth rates are too low compared to a selection of investments of different types and in different parts of the world.
  • Hi James,
Thank you for your help with that.
FYI ,I am only interested in this as one part of a considerably larger investment plan. Indeed it is actually just something i am doing to rebalance the families assets and risk management. What I don't want though are investments which presume to be what they are not. Low return is fine ,but the low risk should be just that otherwise it is a nonsense to pursue.
Look at the US. Was it the GM moneymanagement fund that just set a precedent over there by 'breaking the buck' for the first time ever ?! I don't need a rocket scientist playing about with risk 'free' cash deposits .It's a misnomer.

If you want a pension which offers a cash investment look at a low cost SIPP with no annual fee. None of them offers a high interest rate, the best is probably Sippdeal ( https://www.sippdeal.co.uk ).However the interest is not taxed.
    Trying to keep it simple...;)

Kitchen1, makes sense and index-linked gilts or the gilt funds should do the job.
