have recently joined instagram and have been tagging and been tagged. I have had a few congratulations messages, but I have to register to get free movies to be able to claim my prize. Is this the only way to win on instagram? am i wasting my time? can you just get a message that you have won and asks for detais etc? thanks jan

Hi, I would suspect you've been contacted my spam accounts rather than legit ones. There are a huge amount of scammers out there this advent trying to take advantage. If they are asking you to spend money/click on random links they are most likely fake. I've been friended by a number of companies on instagram and i always check they are the official site (a easy way to to check how many posts/followers they have-normally it will be substantially less than the official site) . You'll also notice if you look very closely they have one too many letters in their name. I've had messages too saying congrats and click this link so you don't miss out, but fortunately i checked first. A proper site will most likely follow you (and you will probably already be following them to have entered the comp they set) and they will message you most likely asking for your address and nothing else.

thanks was going to stop doing instagram ones if that is what I had to do to get my prize, if that is not the norm I will carry on and be more careful thanks again jan

Well yes, it's spam, I also get a lot of it and have to block it

Well yes, it's spam, I also get a lot of it and have to block it

Old thread but yes I do a few on Instagram, if I am contacted by a spam account I block them, so many say congrats you have won this is our 2nd account.....block....most of the original accounts now have something at the bottom of their account saying this is the only account we have if you are contacted by any others its spam......
