Condenser Tumble Dryer

Options
I’m slowly driving myself crazy trying to work out which tumble dryer to buy. I would like to invest in a heat pump one but in all the ones I have looked at you cannot access the condenser to clean it. Is this normal for this design? I’m worried it may then be more vulnerable to breakdown. Would be very grateful for any advice!

We recently had to replace our condenser tumble dryer I looked at heat pump dryers and after reading quite a bit of information about them decide to go with a Bosch ordinary condenser dryer, apparently heat pump dryers take quite a lot longer to dry items as they operate at a lower temperature and they are a lot more complex and costly to repair if they go wrong.
  • The last time I needed to replace a tumble dryer (late 2015/early 2016) and as usual it was at very short notice. I didn’t have a lot of time to research but was impressed with the other Siemens appliances we had so opted for one of their machines, which had the heat dodah you mentioned. We are a household of 6 humans and 3 dogs, I feel like I spend most of my life doing something laundry related! Due to circumstances I haven’t line dried an awful lot in that period and have had no problems with the dryer (hope I haven’t jinxed it!) The lint catcher under the door has another mesh which needs a periodical clean and once you remove them for cleaning you can catch any loose fluff that has moved down... but unlike my previous Bosch dryer there is no big unit to pull out and clean.

The only special requirement I think there is with this type of dryer is that it isn’t meant to be kept somewhere that isn’t heated. I say isn’t because my washing machine was located in an unheated room and I wasn’t going to put the dryer anywhere other than next to it!

I am guilty of researching too much at times, hope you can find the right machine for you soon!
