Tax on two pensions

Recently left RM and have been receiving two pensions from them since 2018 along with my wages. Both pensions currently taxed at BR. I contacted HMRC today and they have changed the bigger of the two pensions to my personal allowance. While the smaller one is still at BR. As both pensions added together are below my Personal allowance and even when I get an extra supplement added to them by RM as I no longer work for them will take it just over my personal allowance. How does it work out if the smaller pension is fully taxed but most of that pension would be less than the personal allowance? Do you just wait until the end of the tax year and ask for a refund? Or will that be automatic when you get the P60?

So you have 2 pensions and wages from a job and these total less than £12,500pa?

No its only below £12500 once my wages stopped when I retired in November and now just getting the pensions.
  • The pension that has got the Personal Allowance allocated to it will pay any refund due the next time you are paid that pension.

Assuming the code was issued on s cumulative basis.

You could ask for the tax code to be split between the two. I have three small pensions with the tax code split over the three so that they are all paid with nil tax.
