Power NI Perks - Any Good?

I am reviewing my Electricity provider as I have just lost my 1 year introductory discount from Airtricity. As there is so little difference between prices I am trying to look at the extras. My annual consumption is less than 3000KWh. Has anyone any experience of NI Power Perks - they give very little away on their website and I would like to explore their value a bit.
Also if anyone wants to recommend a supplier I would be happy to see what you have to say.

  • The perks are ok but I tend not to use them perhaps as much as I should, because of the hassle. Most of the decent discounts which aren’t available more widely will involve buying gift cards, which comes with its downsides. Also, if you work for an employer which offers perks through the xexec shopping portal, the discounts are likely to be the same.

I took a screenshot of the most popular perks for you, hopefully it works! I rarely use them as it's hassle getting e-vouchers or reloadable cards just to save 80p on something - the only big saving for me would be the supermarkets, but they're only valid in store and I shop online.
  • I had an Electric Ireland salesman call to the house today. Would it be worthwhile changing over from Power NI? Although I don't want to have to be comparing tariffs all the time and watching what is coming out of my account.

I’ve changed supplier a couple of times but came back to Power NI due to constant hassle. Never had a problem with Power NI. Change if you’re prepared to have to constantly be checking your account, have Emails ignored and hang on the phone for ever. You may save a couple of quid a year. Or you might not.

I had one call with me a few weeks ago from Budget Energy and gave me the speech about how much I could save compared to electric Ireland. I wasn’t willing to make the decision there and then so asked him to leave me a card with the details. He said he would do that and then promptly walked off without doing that exact thing! Obviously he wouldn’t have got his commission if I’d signed up later.
