Child Benefit High Earn Tax Question

Comments

  • Why £1,800?

Where are you getting £300 from?

HICBC on £51.5k would be 15% of the Child Benefit.

How many children is Child Benefit being paid for?

1800, sorry should say 1500, to cover the amount earning over 50k and it’s for 2 children.  I plugged the numbers into the HMRC calculator and that’s the amount it said I owe in tax, £300
  • Seems a bit on the high side, Child Benefit for two kids is about £1,800 and 15% is only £270 but I guess it's in the right ballpark.
