Hair colouring

Would like the views of any hairdressers (and other knowledgeable people) about semi permanent hair colouring. My hairdressers use Loreal dia Richesse which I believe is a good quality product. I try not to have full colour too often with just the roots being done every six weeks then full colour perhaps every five to six months. But as I get older (in my 70s but still thick hair) it is getting brassier and brassier. Should I just have it coloured all over more often? Will chat to my hairdresser next time I go but interested in a range of views. Thank you

What I suppose I am really asking, is whether there is a trade off between good colour and condition of hair? Or is it only an issue with permanent colour?0

Can't answer regarding the tint your hairdresser uses but you could try one of the purple shampoos (which are designed to tone down brassiness) when you wash your hair.

I'm not a hairdresser but have been looking at hair I see when I'm out and about for the past year or so in an effort to decide whether or not to begin dying mine; so thought I would comment on some points I've noticed that you may not have considered.
Most women that I've seen who have an all over colour with no variation in shade have not chosen a flattering colour for their skin tone and consequently their overall appearance is unbecoming.
The very few women I've seen who have hair that I think must be dyed given their age and its colour, have the sort of dye job that has a mix of shades and tones which go with their skin tone and has a very natural seeming appearance. When I've stopped a few and asked where they get it done and how much might it cost the answers are all a few top local salons where there is a colour specialist and it takes hours every 6-8 weeks and costs at least £150.
These answers have convinced me that unless I am willing to spend both time and money on my hair I shouldn't dye it. I really do think if you can't budget the time and money for a good salon job then just let it be your natural colour and choose a really flattering cut and keep it in great condition.0
