They were not slow once your application went in, a little slower than the last 2-3 we have sent them, but it seems the biggest hold up was the surveyor as they had your offer issued the following day.

I am just surprised you are happy with a 3 week wait and still class that as rapid. Your mortgage application was submitted, your application underwritten, the surveyor went out to view the property and filled out a report all in 2-3 days less than it took for them to sit down and put your details on paper.

Its great that you are happy with it, thats all that matters really. But a broker would have done it in half the time.
I guess I didn't fully appriciate that decent brokers could be had for no up front fee? Coupled with the fact that we aren't really pushed for time and reading stories on this forum about offers taking months and months, it seemed quick. I now know this not to be the case haha.
The best brokers charge :P thats a joke before anyone says anything - we charge and to be honest every broker I know does, but I suppose there will be some decent free ones out there.

Everywhere was fairly quiet mid lockdown, nobody could go out or do anything. It was only really from May where everyone in the country decided to move home.
