Another question..
Peolpe are saying they are not shopping but living out of their stores..
I'm like... isn't this false economy because you still need to buy stuff eventually..
I'll try to explain... so I batched cooked..
So now have 3 vegan meatballs bolgnese to freeze (each has 2 meals inminus the pasta) Plus have chopped n frozen the rest of the peppers..
My mindest tells me to replace all items on next shop despite knowing I've got homemade frozen food..
Is it because you grow a lot of veg etc and so will replace automatically that way
Is it because you get a lot off olio and just get creative?
Is it because, unlike me, you don't have the compulsion to hoard about a months worth of food..
There's lots of lovely stuff on olio near me but I'm vegan.. so have to pass on a lot of things...
I've also looked as 'so good' (I think thats what it was) but they seem to have lots of fresh bread and fresh baked goods we couldn't use.. so is wasteful to get.
So those who are just surviving on the freezer / stores... I need your wisdom# 36 1p challenge 2024 - £536.60

Another question...
So I actually baked with my son..
(one of the reasons I joined was to do more / be a better example to him)
So we now have (a very first world problem)... can I freeze the brownie?# 36 1p challenge 2024 - £536.60

If I use anything out of my stores I replace it. We've still got a couple of months of winter left and if we get bad snow I won't want to go out.11

That’s a good question couldsavemore, from our point of view we have had a low pay month and so need to reign it in a bit for one thing I also give my freezer a defrost and clean come spring and it’s amazing the stuff that gets forgotten about or overlooked so for me it’s a good time to incorperate anything like that into the meal plan. Normally then I would add a few items each week to restock. It’s a bit more difficult at the moment as I used to pick up yellow sticker or reduced items but I now have deliveries or click and collect. We have no one using Olio local to us but we are a little community of terraced houses and between us not much gets wasted, whether it’s food or furniture, it gets used up, recycled or repurposed and if we haven’t got something there is usually somebody that has it or can lend it.Couldsavemore said:Another question..

Awww he looks so cute, great needlework skills fiwen30. Those fleecy blankets are quite handy. I remember stitching a couple I had onto some unlined curtains in our back bedroom, worked a treat to keep the draught out.
Here he is! It needs a bit of adjusting, the buttons are a bit far back, but it’s keeping his stiff back warm and cosy, and it was free!‘It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine’ - Winnie the Pooh10 -
So made the chilli yesterday, had some for dinner, got a couple of packups for hubs and some left over to have with jackets tomorrow. With the other half of the mince made a Bol. I had some cannelloni tubes that needed using up so made a large batch, some for dinner today and two more packups. So all in all quite happy. I managed to book a click and collect slot for next pay day.....have to be really quick to secure a slot even so advanced but at least now we can take advantage of hubs extra colleague discount. Not very frugal but had to use tumble to finish drying towels today. Even tho sun was out it was still damp and little breeze. We have had no heating on or fire going so saving a bit there. Off to make a cuppa and finish the crossword. Hope everyone has a good rest of the day.‘It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine’ - Winnie the Pooh9

As I use things especially cupboard items, I replace them so we always have a good stock.

My DS is a toddler and grows out of clothes quicker than you can say ‘too small’. I put £20 away every month for the purpose of buying clothes/shoes when needed. It goes into a specific savings account - I treat it like an online envelope. It cannot be used for anything else and must only be used for stuff for DS.Couldsavemore said:Am amazed at how much people have left in there budgets etc... I'm on my knees this month.
My son has had a growth spurt so had to get new school trousers and pants and socks. Also got him some wellies. Also needed big bag of dog food which will get me through a few months...
Can I ask.. those of you with money left do you put money into savings at the start of the month?
I put £400 into my savings account and £200 into the big bill account (car insurance etc) but then can't trim down my budgets which are way bigger than other peoples..
