Under £30k is absolutely fantastic @YORKSHIRELASS. Don't be a stranger on this thread, I will nag you if you do xx
@willow_loulou enjoy your hens. Ours give us so much pleasure, fab eggs and eat our fruit and veg leftovers - we adore them x11 -
Thanks @Deleted_User it’s been a few years since we’ve had hens, I’d forgotten their little noises and the smell of their poop 😂 I need to source a better house for them in the long run but they have all they need for the short term. I just could not pass them up and get into a routine with them before winter.

I REALLY want chickens but had to settle for a veg patch for now instead - my spaniel really isnt very good with chickens and i just dont know how/if we could train him to be better with them or if infact he would get bored if we actually had them at home for real. Its an unfortunate thing to go pear shaped though so im not sure if to risk it yet.
Raised begs should help for next years veg though - water butt and composted sourced yesterday for next to nothing so at least we've startedFollow here for the daily life of an ADHD mum with 2 children and a new mortgage to pay

Oh I forgot to mention. I saved £60 on my home insurance renewal just by ringing my provider and asking. It actually says to ring if you’re considering moving. I detest the comparison sites so was super happy I didn’t need to bother as it’s actually cheaper now than last year!Life happens, live it well.11

So far I'm having a good week. Local A$DA is having a re-fit and are discontinuing a load of lines. I grabbed,
5 tins of nappolina butter beans at 16p a tin
4 bottles of ariel gel
2 extra large bottles of ariel liquid
1 bottle of leather cleaner
1 pack of loo rolls
2 large lenor
1 large eco cover washing liquid
3 large listerine mouthwash
and various dog dental chews.
Spent a total of £17. Worked it out that I saved just over £60. It's all items that I use so really pleased.
Also saved £40 on the price of last years car insurance.
Had loads of veg out the garden. Pickled 3 large jars of beetroot and we have so many blueberries this year that I made jam.
We also have so many courgettes and cucumbers that we are giving them away.

Had a brilliant shop at M&S my £7 budget stretched to milk (ordinary and lactose free) cherries, melon, avocado, bananas, carrots, green beans and some bathroom cleaner. That came to £5.48 so I have more than enough to get a loaf of bread later as I totally forgot to get it in M&S ha typical of me.Life happens, live it well.11

Had to rescue some spuds from one of the pots I was growing them in, as there was standing water (forgot to drill holes, d’oh!) and it was looking pretty ropey. It looks as I got to them just in time, as lots of them looked to have rotted down. First time I’ve tried to grow spuds - so lessons learned! Should do us for spuds for a while I reckon.

Good save in the potatos bargainhunteress!
I’ve lost all my growing things this year. Too dry then too wet followed by strong winds. Only the herbs in hanging baskets survived. I think that’s my limit until I get a greenhouse tbh.Life happens, live it well.10 -
Lidl shop done this morning. I spent a little more then i planned to but as there were gaps on the shelves for a lot of things I picked up a few things extra that I would probably need in the next week or two just in case they aren't there when I need them. My mum gave me 4 massive courgettes yesterday from their garden that they didnt want so will get them sorted for the freezer today and make a batch of veggie pasta sauce. A very large overipe banana got made into chocolate and banana muffins yesterday for the kids to snack on. Got them in the oven at the same time as dinner to save on electric.12
