'chicken poop lady' made me laugh way more than it should have 😆willow_loulou said:I will also be picking up chicken poop and some wood this week. I might get some eggs from chicken poop lady too as they’re very good.
Hopefully she would laugh too!Life happens, live it well.7 -

Hello everyone. I hope everyone is enjoying the weather.
I spent £37.00 on some bedding plants, as after three attempts my flower seeds were getting nowhere. I only went in for 3 bedding plants and came out with 18.00! They'll give some pleasure.
I also spent £28.00 on ebay, but half of the ebay items might be able to be sold on.
Apart, from these two items I've been very tight all year.
At the moment I'm cooking a chicken carcus for soup. I'm still on target for under £4000, but I'll have to keep focused.8 -

Charity shopping was interesting today. I got a small dehumidifier (it was on my list) but nothing else. We had fun though and it was good to be out.Life happens, live it well.11

I hope all of you who have been suffering from the effects of bad neighbours is coping ok. For whatever reason, the lessening of the restrictions seems to be bringing out the worst in some people so I have been dealing with similar, despite having few neighbours. Not sure what his problem is but I won't rise to the bait of lies and unfounded allegations of wrong-doing so police have been made aware. Honestly, you'd think people moving into a new area would just be happy to have a nice little place in the countryside without moaning about utterly ridiculous stuff. Perhaps they've decided country living isn't all they dreamed it would be before they relocated. Anyhow, we have to just keep smiling and carry on regardless. (If neighbour is reading this then shame on you! Do your research and stop blaming others!)
I'm still having some Olio success and my 2 new potato beds are showing signs of life already. I've a few peas ready for planting out and the tomatoes & cucumbers are coming along slowly, as is the one surviving courgette plant. (I had two but one of them succumbed to the sudden change in the weather.) This week I need to tie up the vines and plant out all my sunflowers and nasturtiums that I'd sown into pots so I hope the weather holds. I may sow a few more peas and I would like a bed of leeks, so that's next on the list. Indoors, I have lemons & limes to make curd and need to make some bread & butter pudding to save wasting any of the free bread not that any gets wasted, now we have goats, as well as the ponies, hens and ducks.
Stay upbeat, everyone, no matter what. Smile and/or wave at neighbours, say hello to passers-by and wear the confidence of a frugal living hero.
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

How exciting for you and the family, good luck with new puppy. Are you getting a frugal rescue or have you a specific breed in mind? I'm totally shocked by the unbelievable prices being asked by breeders, especially for cross-breeds, so please be ultra-careful and not fall foul of any puppy farmers or thieves. Who'd have thought owning a dog would have become so precarious.Mummy2cheekymonkeys said:Its not looking like a very frugal month for us. We've decided to get a puppy

Morning all,
Frugal living is having to step up a notch here, as we are being given 6 hens and four ducks from a friend totally free of charge. All hens at PoL which is great. I am now searching for a 2x2 second hand run that will put the ducks on for the time being (the hens will go in with my current girls). I've already got a free large plastic paddling pool in readiness 😉 but runs are going for silly money. What's meant for you won't pass you by..

Ohhh ducks! Huw lucky are you! I recommend a french drain under the paddling pool as it will get very mucky. I had to empty ours very regularly.@Frugaldom I’m sorry your new neighbours are tricky - sending you sympathy. It sounds very difficult if you’ve had police involvement and lies spread, how awful x Mine have been pretty reasonable just recently, which given I’m resting this week the peace is so welcome.I’ve booked the dog exercise place for this afternoon, we all need a good stress free walk. I can let them off and not worry. I’m thinking I might do this regularly so need to have yet another finance rejig!Life happens, live it well.10
