Well done @AskYouWillGet! That's amazing in just a few months. Once I cleared my overdraft I shopped around for a new bank account. There are some great deals on at the mo.11

Yesterday spent a couple of hours going through books that we want to get rid of. Well the book sorting didn't take too long but the flitting between 3 book selling sites did, trying to get the best offers for them. So far we've accepted £18 so they've been packaged up and sent off. Still about another 50 books to sort. The books we got no offers for have gone to the book.swap telephone box, where I picked up a couple of crime novels for mum. We have so much stuff to sell not just books but motivation is really low. I would normally just send everything to the charity shops, but these need to be the last go to, especially as they will probably be inundated with stuff. Need to check out clothes selling sites next after books are done. Any sites people find easy and straight forward to use?

Frugaldom said:@tryingtodobetter I'm so sorry for not responding to your post sooner but hope you will forgive me always chasing my own tail. Since you posted, I hope you and OH have managed to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine to take time out together and talk things through. Nobody could have foretold what 2019/20/21 would bring so the pressures upon the pair of you, while both working front line, must be incredible. I can't and won't try to suggest anything but I do send you my best thoughts, hopes and wishes that your situation improves. You know that if you are ever able to get here that you will be more than welcome to visit, even just to sit and absorb the sounds of nature in a quiet(ish) corner of the country. Or else bring your wellies, as there's always plenty to do while here
I agree on the grocery front! Prices are escalating in a very sneaky fashion: if it isn't huge price hikes, it's size/weight reductions or stores' own basic brands vanishing completely. And finally, regarding your credit card, I can see from here you have roughly halved your debt over the past 2 years so that is fantastic! Well done for keeping with your plan. I'm sure things will work out in the long run so hang on in there - you've got this! Big virtual hugs and all the positive vibes I can muster.

Trimmed the dog today, I'm defiantly improving, not that the dog complains. Saves me £20 a trim at the groomers. If it wasn't for lockdown I would never have attempted it. Clippers have more than paid for themselves.15 -
My credit card arrived this morning. I only ordered it yesterday! I will try and spend only on it and in budget this month and see how that goes.I’ll get some cash back, not a huge amount but tbh a few quid is a few quid!Ive earned almost £7 on prolific in 2 days and another almost £9 for books. Will put it all in the emergency fund.Life happens, live it well.15

Well done askyouwillget. That's amazing and just shows that with your effort and the motivation from this thread can achieve. As I freely admit I'm still a learner driver in the ways of frugal living, so my offering today is that I was within a whisker of buying a takeaway because it's Friday and I deserve it 🤷♀️ But I didn't. Instead I made a lovely stir fry using some frozen veggies, some fridge veggies and store cupboard noodles. Very tasty and the takeaway spend can stay in my bank account.16
