Savingmore. I've gone from liking milk chocolate to plain in the last year. Don't know why but milk chocolate tastes far too sweet now. The trouble is all the family have got used to buying me milk14

Hi folks, welcome to @Nurse2259 and @savingmore. Best of luck on your frugal journeys. I feel like I'm giving mine a bit of a restart at the moment. Frugal focus this week are:
1. Have a chat with OH about our budget for March. We both get paid on 25th so need to have this set up soon.
2. Eat from stores this week. We have plenty in the freezer and pantry to use.
3. Aim to move away from takeaways or at least cut down. We've been getting into the habit of this a bit too much.
4. Make sure I have lunches ready to take to work for me and OH. I want to reduce my use of the canteen at work as it's pretty expensive.
5. Baking - Iove baking but haven't been doing much recently. Aim to make cookies or similar for snacks for work this week.
OH and I had a lovely walk along the local canal this morning. With the beautiful weather today (I even have blankets I washed drying out on the line) it was pretty busy. As the start of the walk there is a cafe that was doing takeaway coffees and rolls. I felt quite proud that I had made up a flask of coffee for us to enjoy after out walk - cheaper and more convenient in that we didn't have to stand in the queue. Baby steps.16 -
Welcome @Nurse2259!☺️So, I’ve been trawling YT again for some worthwhile content but prior to this I have been checking out a forum under Debt Free Diaries and I came across a channel mentioned called OyeTV Channel.....has anyone heard of him?! I strongly suggest checking this guy out as well because he seriously knows his stuff when it comes to how banks and debt collectors operate when it comes to personal debt, be it loans or credit cards...makes for very interesting watching! I had no idea honestly....it actually makes me very angry that these institutions can hold people to ransom like this (because that is basically what it is at the end of the day). Please have a watch if any of you get the chance and let me know your thoughts. Thanks 😊15

Just catching up as I've been busy for the last few days
Sashacat:- So sorry to hear of your loss, keep posting and be kind to yourself.
I have not done as well this month with the household budget as in January but I've still managed to stay within the limit I set myself. I've a food delivery coming later today (self isolating etc) so hopefully that will be the last spend this month.
I'm eagerly awaiting the 2nd jab so I can finally set foot outside this place. Since Feb 2020 I've only been off this place three times and that was for Hosp check-ups. I can't say I'm bored as there is plenty to do here - I was helping with logging yesterday - but I just need a change of scenery. Every day the routine is the same as the day before, sometimes I've even had to check which day of the week it is. DH seems to cope better than me, He has been off this place just twice and that includes his jab. Don't feel sorry for me, we have plenty of space here. If I walked the perimeter it would take me over an hour to get round but I would just love to wear something smarter, get into a pair of heels and go somewhere.

Life is getting very sad when the height of excitement is looking at Builders Buckets!. I was in a Pound shop yesterday and noticed them. Next adventure later in the week will be a trip to Wilko to look at plant pots.
Loved the thought that reading this thread is a guilty pleasure Savemore. Welcome to you and also Nurse2259. My guilty pleasure is buying a pot of 3 planted Hyacinths, much better than a bunch of daffodils and last much longer. Get one every year as they are only £1.69!.
Final week of February, it's gone really quickly, hoping I can last out a few days without food shopping but it's a lack of veg and eggs that might send me off to the shops!.15
