Nationwide green mortgage (extra borrowing)

I'm interested in the Nationwide green mortgage for a little extra borrowing for home improvements.

Has anybody any experience of the timescale of ringing to apply and having the extra borrowing available? I presume a quote of works to be carried out is required and then perhaps a final invoice when completed to satisfy the lending terms. I'm a nationwide mortgage customer of 10 months.
