I've ordered a goose for christmas day and it just occurred to me I'm not sure if I have a big enough roasting tin, does anyone have any idea what size I need for a 4 kilo bird?
What did you decide in the end? Did you buy a larger roasting tin?
My DH collected our goose this morning. It's 6.5kg and, even diagonally, was too long for our largest roasting pan. He's just back from A$da, having purchased a 41cm enamelled pan from them. I think it was £12 and it feels very sturdy. It's at least an inch longer than our previous largest pan.

PS: With our goose, we got a 795g bag of fat that had been harvested from it and 150g of liver, both of which are now in the freezer. The goose liver will become pate, when I can get some chicken livers to pad it out. (The rest of the giblets are also in the freezer, to go into the post-Christmas stock pot.)"Be the type of woman that when you get out of bed in the morning, the devil says 'Oh crap. She's up.'
