Barclays 3 month time-line?

Hi, I applied for a mortgage with Barclays through L&C on September 26th. Every few days since, Barclays has requested more docs until we sent the last batch of docs on October 26th when they stopped updating the Barclays Track It feature (stuck on: more docs needed). My broker said that they've sent everything and to disregard the Trackit updates and that Barclays is still assessing my application. Now it's been a couple of weeks and both L&C and Barclays haven't given me any updates and L&C isn't responsive anymore. Is it normal to be assessed in such a long time or is my application stuck in limbo and forgotten?

@tjan Sorry to hear this. What is the additional documentation related to - employed income, self-employed income, anything else, etc?
Your broker should have got on the phone with their BDM in Barclays and kept you up to date.

Hi @K_S, thanks for your reply.
The first week after we applied they asked for additional bank statements, the week after they requested additional proof of address, and then finally the EWS1 form. I've only moved to the UK last year though so I had to go the Barclays Premier route, so I assumed this requires manual underwriting and I tried to remain calm but it's taking too long, probably even for manual handling.

@TJAN Ok, if it's the EWS1 form that was last asked for, a long delay is to be expected from what I am seeing. As I understand it, the EWS1 form needs to ok'd by a qualified valuer (so someone outside Barclays), the kind of which are in extremely short supply at the moment so that could be the reason it's still sitting in a queue somewhere waiting to be reviewed.
But that's just my best guess based on the limited info in your posts. You should really get on L&C's case for an update to know exactly what's happening.

    Give Barclays a call on
    03450733330
and give your mortgage ref number which should be on your Barclays mortgage declaration document. You will most likely speak to someone from India.
My offer took 3 weeks but that was a straight purchase.

Update: After a few phone calls earlier this week, today I received an offer. I'm excited and looking forward to finish the purchase asap. My situation was definitely not straightforward, so I assume that's why Barclays' underwriters needed more time than the average. Final elapsed period from starting application to offer: 11 weeks.
