can anyone tell me how to get the cheap deals at the larger hotel chains? usually book 30/40 nights a year on friday and saturday. help is appreciated

thanks for the laterooms, not seen this site before but went there and have boooked direct with Moathouse for £50 BB for 2. I have tried this hotel before and could never get it below at a rate i was prepared to pay.

If you book in advance with many hotels you get a lower rate, but there are t&cs, One of the main being for example if you book one month in advance, payment is taken/charged immediately, and you can't cancel. It would be a good idea to sign up for newsletters, that send you info of offers when they become available. Weekends usually have some of the cheaper rates around. Last bank holiday weekend I got a family room at £29 per night, from Jurys Inn.(booked the day before I arrived).

Another thing is to join rewards programme of a specific hotel that you use, for example, ICHGroup rewards you points for you stay, plus there are other ways to earn points. And you can in turm claim these points for free stays.
