Ok, i have 1k to spend on a New TV. Do i wait till the Jan sales to start before i buy? I suspect with credit the way it is, consumer spending will be fairly limited in the new year and over xmas, so the retailers will be trying harder than ever to intice people into buying with deals etc...
What do you all think? Shall i buy before xmas or wait for the 'sales'?????
Thanks guys.

Hi, I'd wait until just before Christmas and then I'd head straight for a small independent dealer - this is what I did a couple of years ago when I bought my Panasonic LCD.
I went direct to a local store just down the road and was 1) happy with the service and 2) bought safe in the knowledge that should anything go wrong they were right there for me to visit. This said I have had no problems and am very happy with my TV. In fact its brill - it looks good, has a great picture and sounds fantastic. I had just moved house and wanted a system that I could use to play all my music out of as I wanted to remove the need to have a separate hi fi. It was not the cheapest set available but it was defo the best I found - and all with the help of a local dealer.
I'm a big fan of using local dealers for items such as this - they just beat on line stores hands down. On line shopping has it's place but for specialist purchases I need to see the whites of the sales mans eyes - whilst soaking up all his knowledge. ;-)
The shop I went to was Hewits in Gatley, Cheshire. Not sure if the shop is close to you or not - but there you go.Regards
Pat Mustard.
