I have a pension with a Aviva via a previous employer. I notice that some funds have FP on the end e.g. Baillie Gifford American FP; some have AP e.g. Av Artemis Strategic Bond AP; some have FP etc; some have EP. What is meant by: AP; FP; AP; EP etc?
I have spent time Goolgling this, however I have not found an answer.

Internal codes to identify different share class versions of the same fund. Absolutely nothing of interest here for you.

FP are the old Friends Provident versions of the fund, now run by Aviva. My old scheme was run by Friends Provident and all fund choices were prefixed FP.w00519773 said:I have a pension with a Aviva via a previous employer. AP is probably Aviva.
EDIT: EP may be Eagle Star now owned by Zurich?

Zurich do use EP and AP in their range but its just coincidence on their letters happening to be the same as ones Aviva used. Complete fluke.

I believe you are. The Norwich Union funds tended to be S1, S2 etc and an NU class The FP would be original Friends Prov. I think the AP and EP came out of the Bristol office which was ex AXA Sun Life. There was also XE and IE but I don't know where they apply. PM was provident mutual. Inet I don't know what used that. NM for National Mutual. GA for General Accident, LMP for London & Manchester.CU for Commercial Union.garmeg said:

Was I correct about FP being Friends Provident subfunds or was that a coincidence as well?
And the Zurich one was also Eagle star for the E and Allied Dunbar for the A
The sort of info you only need if you are going to the Aviva nerds pub quiz! (I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). dunstonh,
Do you know where and when the Aviva nerds pub quiz is happening, could be a great chance for a few of us regulars to meet up and discuss the finer points of personal finance
