Abuse of Furlough?

My employer is making everyone take their leave. (Fine, not an issue) However our payslips are advising that we are furloughed on the leave days.
Our leave days are being used up, but as I say it’s reflecting on the payslip as Furloughed. Followed by leave top up 20%

Now, quite rightly I challenged this.
I received in writing. Your leave days are paid under furlough and we have topped you up the 20% - you have been paid in full for your leave, so it shouldn’t make any difference to you as to how you have been paid.

is that allowed?

Yes it's fine, what do you mean 'quite rightly I challenged it'?
Wouldn't you have googgled it first (it's the first result in Google direct to the gov.uk website) before 'challenging'.
As long as you recieved your correct holiday pay and advised beforehand all is OK.
You also accrue holiday leave whilst on furlough.

Edited due to your other post... I had presumed you had been furloughed, though it looks as though you are working. Can you clarify?
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

The you challenged it wrongly....way to go putting a target on your back!
Perfectly legal and fair. It is all part of helping the company stay going.

Only allowed if they have signed consent from the employee that they are willing to go on furlough, the business has lost revenue due to COVID and the employee is eligible to be furloughed.  If not then the employer would be breaching the furlough scheme but it's the employer who would get in trouble with HMRC not the employee, so they don't need to concern themselves with it.
