There was a thread on here many moons ago about "block" freezing.
Basically it was freezing components of things that could then be taken out as required and used to make a variety of meals.
For example mince and onions, cooked and split into four dishes to be matched with a sheet of pastry to make pie. Topped with mash (also frozen) to make shepherd's pie. Added to a small tin of tomatoes to make a bolognese or even added to a tin of mixed beans in spicy sauce to make a chilli.
There was loads of similar suggestions.
I do my frozen meals in the plastic takeaway tubs. I even go so far as to slice up a frozen cheesecake or cake and freeze portions in a container. I also use them for leftover sliced meat from a joint covered in gravy. All single portions and all microwave in the tub from frozen.
I write on the lids with a marker pen. Which cleans in the dishwasher.5
