Don't use Close Brothers for your mortgage

We have been trying unsuccessfully to get a redemption figure from this mortgage broker but it is like drawing teeth. Their staff are totally unhelpful and have put forward more and more obstacles. Our solicitors are pulling their hair out - they have complied with Close Brothers every request but at each stage, another problem seems to arise. They say they haven't received documents when we know they have, they change the goalposts of requirements daily. We have now been told that we must wait another five days for the figure to be posted to our solicitors which will be nearly two weeks after completion date.
I have tried ringing them myself this morning - Jennifer tells me that no-one in authority will take my call. These people are a tuppence halfpenny company who obviously don't want the business.
Why are they delaying? We want to pay the mortgage figure not get one from them. But in the meantime, we can't finalise anything.

Yeah, if they are a broker by pass them, tell the lender of the service they are giving and they will get a kick up the back side!
