Help when on SSP

Hi, I am hoping someone can advise me.
My husband has been off work for 6 weeks with a bad back and shoulder and it looks likely that it will be few more weeks before he can return to work. He is receiving SSP but I was wondering if there is any additional help we can get financially? We can't survive on less than £300 a month!
