This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Morning All
I woke up at 4.30, had a cup of tea, read for a while then went back to sleep, it was light when I woke up!
I've made some biscuits and a loaf of bread, first time breadmaking and it was from a packet so cheating a bit. Just having some with jam, quite nice.
Yesterday's weather was glorious, I tidied up in the garden and put the washing out - it didn't dry much but smelled lovely.
Not doing anything in particular today, may walk down to Aldi for a few bits.
Glad our poorlies are getting better, great to hear you enjoyed your Takeaway RR, happy birthday to your DD for yesterday.
Take care and enjoy Sunday. XX9 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. It just dawned on me I hadn't posted this morning but see everyone else is late to the party too! I had a horrible non-sleeping night. I woke at 1.00 with cramp, got up and moaned and groaned until it settled then when I got back in bed I was wide awake and had a fitful night thereafter.
I am awaiting the arrival of the mobile covid testing people and feel I can't settle to anything until they have been. I know there will be much gipping going on! My bestie texted that they too had been accosted to have one and she is wound up like me! They told me they would be doing the rounds up here any time between 10.00 and 4.00, Sod's law it will be 4,00 and I will be strung up all day!
I haven't a clue what I am eating today. I shall have a freezer rummage next and see if I can find something quick and easy for lunch and maybe get some fish out to defrost for my tea.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for those in need. Hoping the soreness and painfulness soon eases for GERS and RUBY. Take care one and all x

Afternoon all, I thought I would be the only latecomer today but it seems not, hopefully everyone has had a well deserved rest.I have been sorting my xmas cards, writing the letters to go in those that live far away and attaching stamps, they are now ready to post tomorrow. The local family, friends and neighbours will be hand delivered into their letterboxes this week. This afternoon I will start on the wrapping of DD's birthday presents and the xmas pressies that have arrived. After a day of the walking dead yesterday I have decided to look for a daily pill dispenser. I shouldn't mess my meds up then and I'm sure there is a spare one of Mr Fix It's somewhere, it's just where to look first. We had the rest of the chicken yesterday so we shall have corned beef hash tonight, followed by the last of the lemon meringue pie.TA hugs and I hope it's over soon.Hope everyone can have a pain free day.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9

Afternoon all.
It's been a busy morning here, once I got going, and I've managed to do all the ironing, make a Delia marmalade cake and a rather large lamb shank is now cooking in the slow cooker, along with some onions, leeks, lamb stock and red wine - hic! Had some Sains* duck spring rolls for lunch, along with some coleslaw and leftover salad bits and they were rather nice. Might buy another pack to keep in the freezer.
This afternoon I have a Zoom AGM, which I expect will last for about 2 hours, so I'll take my knitting with me to while away the time whilst I listen to people speaking.
Have a good Sunday everyone9
