Aldi delivery by Deliveroo
Options
Just read in our local paper that our Aldi is going to offer a delivery service with Deliveroo. Seems there is to be a list of 400 items to choose from, delivery will be free within a certain range and delivery will have max of 35 items (depending on size) but order can be delivered in several free deliveries. (Would expect to tip the Deliveroo person!) Possibly within 30 minutes, depending on demand.
If this had been April, I would have thought this must be an April Fool hoax. Says this has been trialled in various parts of the country, but just can't imagine the Deliveroo person on a bike coping with the demand there could be for the service!!
Has anyone been in one of the 'trial' areas?

Delivery is £4.99
Only 150 items according to Aldi
Expect to pay more as well “ The prices of our products on the Deliveroo app may be different from what you pay in store. However, they still offer amazing Aldi value and quality.”I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Must have increased their stock list in new trials. Extract from local press release says
"Customers within a 3.7mile radius of the participating stores will be able to choose from around 400 essential Aldi grocery items to be picked, packed and delivered in around 30 minutes."
I can't find the section where it said delivery would be free within a 1 km radius, may have been an opening offer. There was also no mention that goods might be more expensive. I think this was hidden in "you'll still get great Aldi value".
Service hasn't started yet, so I'll know more when it begins.

Last weekend, e tried the new Click & Collect service. Very impressed. Really easy to navigate the website and pick a slot. Husband was texted and got the order and when he arrived, he just had to tell them which C& C bay he was in and someone came out with the shopping in biodegradable bags and put them in the car. He didn't even have to get out. Will be trying Aldi again for organic broccoli, mushrooms and carrots plus cheap Boursin and nice wild smoked mackerel with piri piri 4.99 charge but no minimum order.
We also tried Co-op via Deliveroo. Really really fast, like in my fridge within 20 mins. Co-op gluten free cheese and ham croquettes and gluten free salmon and cheese bites. Tasty but a bit mushy within the crumb. Awesome coleslaw, as usual. Co-op forgot one pot and when I pursued this, I got a refund within minutes. First few deliveries are free. Mushrooms (not organic) were a bit chewy. But it's a healthier option than a takeaway.
I was pleased with both services and would use them again. Just need to get to grips with Aldi and Co-op products.0 -
On the Aldi Click and Collect, do you have the ability to change or add things to the order after you've booked it? We usually book a Tesco slot a couple of weeks out with a minimal order, and then add things until the day before. It seems Aldi have no slots until after Christmas, but we have no idea what we might need at that point!
