I bought a so called gaming laptop for my son at just over £500. Cant fully load fortnite! Was told in store when I complained that it only handles low graphics games and I'd need to spend in excess of £1k to get one to play high spec games.1

i do recall her saying these arent up to date games so it wont need to be a high spec top of the range laptop? hopefully i will be able to get her one as no way can i afford £1,000. thanks1

You will get more bang for the buck buying a desktop (but will need to buy monitors) but you will still be struggling at £600 (imo)2

In fact, the games you're talking about are not too demanding. They can, in principle, pull any modern laptop. If you want to play the latest games you have to pay a lot of money for them. After all, now go so demanding games that it's scary)).0
