Stupid question time so forgive me for asking (I'm not brilliant with technology) - would this work with my daughter's Amazon tablet? I think that it's a Fire tablet? And do they have a decent supply of children's books available?
Thanks!0 -
You can read Kindle books on any tablet (not just an Amazon one), you might need to download the Kindle app first.olgadapolga said:Stupid question time so forgive me for asking (I'm not brilliant with technology) - would this work with my daughter's Amazon tablet? Amazon claim they have over 70000 children's books available for the Kindle, so a lot more than your local Waterstones or WH Smith would have in paper format!1 -
Thank you so much for responding, that's really helpful. I will go and sign up so that my daughter has some reading material that is more readily available than at our library at present (thanks to the pandemic).
I just cannot get enough books for her at the moment, she reads everything in sight (including posters at the dentist's when we were there a couple of weeks ago). She's currently working her way through the books I had when I was her age and older.
Definitely a "Matilda"!0 -
Thanks, just tried that and must have had a similar offer in the past as it wasn't there for me. BUT there was a 6 months at half price offer which in effect is 3 months free! So going for that one.0

I've just noticed while the 60 day trial offer seems to have expired you can have a free 30 day trial if you haven't had one in the last 12 months, opposed to 36 months.0

You can probably download an app for your local library too. Have a google and see what's available in your area. You can also borrow magazines and probably children's comics from the library. All free, as per normal. You're limited to how many books you can have but you are able to renew loans and return when you want to, really flexible.olgadapolga said:Thank you so much for responding, that's really helpful. My daughter also read everything in sight, as did I when younger. She's now a journalist and online writer for a well known magazine, working from home and demanding her own salary.
Reading is the way to go! Google that library app, you won't regret it.
