On furlough, being made redundant, can I except a contract role?

I requested pay in lieu of notice and my last day of employment is this Friday. A recruiter has just called me about a contract role starting tomorrow. I have no idea how any of this works having never been furloughed, made redundant or done any contract or freelance work before. Would it jeopardise my redundancy payment (which is substantial as I was there for 8 years)?

You can take on other work during furlough, but you must be able to return to work immediately upon request. That doesn't seem likely in your situation.
No effect upon redundancy. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Shouldn't do but you need to confirm with your current employer just to be sure - if they are asked to give a reference they may pick that you've started another role before your redundancy becomes effective.1

As above. You’re allowed to work for a different employer while furloughed.0

Loop in employer and obtain consent before you commit, your still employed.
